What is WTI Net?
The Institute Today
As a centre of excellence of the University of Bern and its Faculty of Law, the World Trade Institute (WTI) aims to significantly contribute to globalcapacity building in the field of International Trade Regulation.

The WTI was the first, and is the most experienced institution in the world, offering a specialised postgraduate degree in the law and economics of international trade regulation through our flagship Master of International Law and Economics (MILE) programme. We also hosts an annual Summer Academy on Trade Regulation, have partnered with CMP Publishing and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to offer two distinct Distance Learning programmes, and specialise in providing tailor-made courses to institutions around the world.

As host institution of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) on Trade Regulation, the WTI is at the core of a global research network connecting our students to researchers, practioners and our own alumni in the field. The NCCR's purpose is to develop innovative policy recommendations which reflect a better balance between economic and other regulatory objectives.
